Holly and Mark found the Botanical Gardens Day Chapel when running on the trails one day. Little did they know it was one of the most popular places to get married in Athens. They wanted the theme of their wedding to stay very nature-like with plenty of light blues and greens, with a touch of ivory and crystal. They made sure to incorporate plenty of butterflies, by having a butterfly release and butterfly accent pieces. They nature theme continued through the flowers by adding moss, curly willows, and twigs. Everything from the Cypress wood of the Day Chapel to the calla lilies towers on the altar, embraced the true beauty of the scenic nature that surrounded them on their wedding day.

Wonderful memories of autumn in Athens provided the inspiration for Whitney and Dustin’s wedding on October 24, 2009. Dustin’s proposal on the steps of the University of Georgia Chapel simply sealed the deal for the ceremony site. The color palate featured the bride’s favorite color purple in combination with opulent shades of orange. From the intimate, spiritual ceremony to the fantastically fun reception, the evening was everything they had hoped for. The venue, flowers, food, and entertainment were wonderful! Thanks to the AWP members who contributed to their amazing day!

"For the next 12 months, we will be selecting 1 charity a month to donate $100 per month to as a way of saying, 'Thank you God for giving so much to us!' Here is where YOU come in…we need charities to choose from! I have several that come to mind right off the bat…International Justice Mission…Mercy Clinic of Athens…the Red Cross…lots of places. But we want YOUR input. You have until January 30th to submit, via email to melissa@melissapepin.com, the names and donation information to your favorite charity. We will put them all in a hat and draw out 12 different charities to donate to. We will then feature each charity on our blog at the end of each month and give people the info so that THEY can click to donate right here on our blog. For every person that donates, we will send you some fun MPP paraphernalia (t-shirts, coffee cuffs, an autographed picture of ME…okay just kidding about the last one."
