There was a great article about Watkinsville in this summer's issue of Southern Living. The article featured our very own Ashford Manor B&B.

Modern Bride Magazine has had a special feature the past two years wherein they have recognized the Top 150 Bands and DJs in the USA. There were only two DJs in the state of Georgia recognized in those issues and MusicMaster DJs Inc. was one of them! At the recent Annual Conference of the National Association of Wedding Professionals, they received the Industry Service Award! Congratulations, Andrew!

Athens Wedding Professionals, Athena Magazine for Women and Magic 102.1, present The Ultimate Bridal Show. With more than 50 local and Northeast Georgia wedding professionals participating, this will be your one-stop shopping event for all the services you’ll need to make your sweetest dreams become your most precious memories.

The Ultimate Bridal Show will be held Sunday, October 19, 2008 from 1-5 pm at the Classic Center in Athens, Georgia. Tickets are available for purchase at the Classic Center Box Office (706-357-4444). You can buy your tickets online through the Classic Center Box Office. Tickets for the big event are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Everyone is welcome, so bring your bridal party and even your groom! Additionally, we will announce the winners of the Magical Wedding Giveaways; who knows? With their unique style, Mack and Jenna desired a wedding that would showcase their dramatic take on life. The color palate of black, red, and warm candlelight filled the plantation to set the mood of passion and romance. While the band played in the background, the guests were serenaded with jazz tunes which livened up the evening and the dance floor. Vinyl records replaced the traditional guest book and Vogue magazine was the inspiration for the cake, tying in the couple's love of fashion and music. Leaving under a canopy of sparklers Mack and Jenna set off on their honeymoon truly enjoying the most memorable day of their lives.

Inspired by their Louisiana roots, Liz and Jared wanted to have a wedding theme that would remind guests of the comfort and warmth of their home state. Throughout the wedding, we incorporated subtle details to achieve this desired ambiance. The color palette of peach, chocolates, golds & greens complemented that old world feel, wedding programs and guest favors included a Fleur de Lis accent, wrought iron arrangements dripped with beautiful moss, candle light and florals, and we even included the traditional "second line" into the reception, complete with customized bride and groom umbrellas lovingly made by the mother of the groom. This couple definitely achieved their goal of creating a culture-rich wedding steeped with old world Louisiana charm!
